- I've recently come up with a good version of Oven Fried Chicken. It's
- very crispy, and in my opinion, better than the Colonel. Try it and let
- me know if it's what you're looking for.
-
- 1 chicken, cut-up
- Approximately 1.5 cups unseasoned bread crumbs
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 2 eggs
-
- Mix flour, bread crumbs and spices together in medium sized paper or
- plastic bag. Dip chicken pieces in egg then shake two or three pieces
- at a time in bag. Put coated chicken skin side down in greased pan.
- Bake chicken at 400 for thirty minutes, then turn over, reduce heat to
- 350, and continue baking for another 20-30 minutes. Serve with mashed
- potatoes and gravy.
